Get to Know Me

Hi everyone, my name is Shanna C. Rittberg, RN, MSN, ANP-BC. I am a licensed Adult Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in acute care neurology, neuro-oncology, inpatient medicine, and clinical consultation. I currently work as a neurology consultant alongside a resident team.

I graduated from Mount Saint Mary College with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006 and earned my Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in 2013.

I have worked at the same institution since 2009, and I truly love what I do. My clinical background has allowed me to care for complex patients, collaborate across specialties, educate clinicians, and evaluate medical issues from both a bedside and systems perspective.

In 2020, following the height of the pandemic, I completed training in Legal Nurse Consulting and expanded my work into the medical-legal field. Through Nightingale Consultants LLC, I work with attorneys in a variety of capacities, including medical record review, fact summaries, chronologies, clinical appraisal, case analysis, and educational presentations.

I am especially passionate about neurolegal consulting, helping attorneys better understand complex neurologic injuries, documentation, timelines, standards of care, and the clinical details that can significantly influence a case.

I also love helping nurses recognize that their expertise can extend far beyond the bedside. Supporting nurses as they explore new opportunities, build confidence, and transform their careers is an important part of the work I continue to grow.
